Leadpetal’s appearance at Shards to record a session for Tape Swap Radio was like a homecoming for the band. Founding members Bella Calamia and Grace Young began playing together as part of Lehigh Valley Girls Rock where they won a chance to record at Shards. Their experience would spark the decision to form Leadpetal after the end of camp.
Leadpetal released their debut album Glass Teeth with drummer Tarrah Bilto earlier in 2025. With music teacher Sam Marencik sitting behind the kit today, the trio has been bringing riffs to venues throughout the Lehigh Valley, New Jersey, and beyond. With a love of early Pantera, a need to vent their frustration with the world, and unspoken camaraderie, Leadpetal have proven themselves to be one of the most exciting young bands in the Valley. They joined us at Shards in November 2025 to perform songs from Glass Teeth and talk to us about their music.
